Location: 7/10 - It is near subway stations, but it's still kinda far to walk especially towards Ginza line. Asakusa line is the nearest. The nearest conbini is 2 streets away (Famimart) If you want a peaceful and quiet location, this is it. If you want to do something at night, Kuramae is dead at night, so try somewhere else. Staff: 10/10 everyone's helpful Room: 8/10 - It was comfortable with the bunk beds, however, there was no locker. There's only a small safe box which won't fit most of your precious items. Everyone can see your stuff. Luckily, I did not lose anything Cleanliness: 10/10 - Place was super clean

I really enjoyed staying here, it was super pleasant. The cafe downstairs served nice food and the room was spacious and clean. Good location as well. The other girls in the dorm were friendly and quiet and the lights were turned off at a reasonable hour. We had a fire alarm go off the first night which resulted in an evacuation, but it was handled so well and the woman who called the fire department made sure everyone knew what was going on in English and Japanese (it was a false alarm in the end). Very well handled!

I really enjoyed my week at Focus Kuramae as the staff was really friendly. I stayed in the female dormitory room on the thrid floor and it was bigger than I expected. I was travelling two big pieces of luggage but I had some space to store them so they would not bother any one else. As far as cleanliness is concerned, I have nothing to complain about. The hostel is located near Kuramae Station and I had no problem getting to the locations I wanted to visit.

This place is brilliant if you want to be just a little further away from the hustle and bustle that is Tokyo while still being close enough to be able to easily get to the popular neighbourhoods for sightseeing. The rooms and bathrooms are incredibly clean and well kept despite being so small, the staff are amazing and friendly and always so welcoming each time we’ve stayed. Would definitely recommend and have since had friends stay and they feel the same.

The location was brilliant! We absolutely loved staying in Kuramae. The hostel was close to two subway lines which was very handy. The staff were helpful on arrival, our dorm room was as a good size - our pods were big enough that we had space at the side to keep our bags but not sure all of the pods had this. Showers/loos always clean and tidy. Lots of great cafes/restaurants nearby and it is so close to the river which is a real bonus.
